Trophic Cascade

Trophic cascades occur when the top of the food chain within an ecosystem changes their behavior, thus influencing all the other elements within the environment. With the reintegration of gray wolves in Yellowstone National Park, the entire ecosystem was revitalized. The elk population was normalized, resulting the the growth of trees. This growth brought back songbirds. Erosion changed the flow of the rivers, bringing back fish, beavers, amphibians, and animals that hunt these creatures
